Olivia Eng
Throughout a healing process of recovering from 4 major surgeries (2012-2017), to address a congenital spine condition, Olivia studied physical rehabilitation including Pilates, neuromuscular + musculoskeletal principles, fascial therapies, and rehabilitative therapies intensively as a means to heal, rebuild, and reconnect with her body from the inside out. She specializes in conditions of the spine and Psoas.
Olivia can attest to the healing benefits from of these practices from her firsthand experience and holds a comprehensive certification through STOTT Pilates. She has been teaching physical rehabilitation since 2013, and also has over 20+ years of experience teaching mindful movement and dance. to a diverse range of ages, levels, and communities.
Olivia Eng is also passionate about dancing, music, poetry, photography, creating art, holistic practices, herbal medicine, agroecology, traveling, and community service. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine, studying Afro-Modern dance with Donald McKayle, and focusing on Dance Performance and Sociology. She is grateful to have performed and studied dance nationally and internationally with various companies. She is based in the San Francisco Bay area as a multi-disciplinary artist, dancer, choreographer, teaching artist, and rehabilitation instructor.
Olivia's multidisciplinary arts platform S.C.A.R.S.Art (Strength, Courage, and Resilience of the Soul) a multi-faceted platform whose goal is to engage and celebrate community through dance, poetry, storytelling, music, holistic practices, herbalism, and cross-cultural exchange.
